Bearing Shields Quality

This is the quality control process during dust cover manufacturing. So we ensure every dimension meets specification according to technical drawings. Our system has 6 dedicated inspectors:

1 inspector for incoming raw materials (steel coil chemical composition, thickness certification)

1 inline inspector for production steps (stamping mold alignment, crimp groove depth control)

4 inspector for final products (sealing lip performance, dimensional accuracy)

All raw materials are 100% inspected before production. Each manufacturing step including material blanking – stamping forming – surface treatment has real-time quality checks. Final dust covers undergo full inspection for:

Surface defects (no scratches/burrs)
Critical dimensions (outer diameter ±0.05mm)
Functional performance (simulated installation test)

Stage 1 – Raw Material Control

This is material QC process. We ensure correct steel grade through chemical testing – confirm carbon steel or 304 stainless via analyzer. Thickness verified with micrometer per specs.

Stage 2 – Manufacturing Control

Production QC during stamping. Operators check mold alignment against drawings. Critical checks: crimp groove depth with dial indicator before final forming. Verify outer diameter tolerance post-pressing. Sample inspection for surface defects – no scratches/burrs allowed.

Stage 3 – Final Product Inspection

Pre-shipment QC covers all parameters: surface, dimensions, cleanliness. Simulate installation for sealing lip performance test. Full checklist verification against order specs. 100% conformance to drawings ensured with documented reports.

Key Inspection Parameters
Surface Appearance
  • No cracks, rust, scratches, or burrs
  • No bubbling, peeling, or uneven coating
  • Consistent color across batch products
Dimensional Tolerance
  • Verify VDFsp, VdFsp, VDF1sp parameters
  • Check outer diameter conformity
  • Inspect elastic crimped edge groove
Cleanliness Level
  • Test according to standard methods
  • Ensure no contamination
  • Verify post-cleaning quality
Residual Magnetism
  • Must not exceed 0.25 mT
  • Use appropriate testing methods
  • Demagnetize if necessary
Material Standards
Carbon Steel
Must comply with industry standards for DC01 or higher grade cold-rolled low carbon steel sheet or strip. Surface quality must be at or above premium grade.
Stainless Steel
Must comply with industry standards for cold-rolled stainless steel sheet or strip with appropriate chromium and nickel content for corrosion resistance.
Surface Treatment
Carbon steel dust covers can be zinc-plated, nickel-plated, or oxidized for rust prevention depending on application requirements.
